Long Road Tattoo knows a tattoo is one of the most dynamic symbols of self-expression ever created and it's essential to rely on the expert guidance of your artists for the proper aftercare. If you follow the directions outlined below your tattoo should heal quickly and properly. After the completion of your tattoo, you can expect your artist to clean the tattooed area and then wrapped or patched. Our tattoo artist typically use self-adherent wrap and or saran wrap. You can leave both the self-adherent and saran wrap on your new tattoo for the first 24hrs.Everyone heals differently so the length of time will depend on how much fluid leaks from the tattoo, which would affect the adhesive. If you notice excessive fluid under the patch, then you will need to remove. The best way to remove the patch is in a warm shower; the warm water will loosen the adhesive, find the edge and pull in the direction of your hair growth. Then clean your tattoo with unscented  anti-bacterial soap and warm water. It is essential your tattoo is kept clean, allowed to breathe, and skin slightly moist during the healing process.

-Wash the tattooed area, twice a day(morning and night) using anti-bacterial soap with warm water;Dab or blot dry skin gently.
-With clean hands apply a small amount of ointment on to your tattoo 2-3times a day for 3-4weeks.Any of the following will work: Hustle Butter,A&D, Coco butter , and Aquaphor
-Do not swim, soak in a hot tub and or bath for 2 weeks after the tattoo session. Also avoid tanning during the healing process.
-Do not scratch your tattoo: It will itch during the healing process. This process can last up to 2 weeks.
